Tina Angotti
Artist: Tina Angotti
Genre: Folk/Pop
Song: Stay (from the CD “Mirror") appears on the Sheheshe Compilation for
Spring 2003 as track #5

This song features just an acoustic guitar and a rich sounding female voice. The recording itself is just as rich and has certain warmth to it. The vocal comes across as very heartfelt and the close to dry sound (you know, the absence of reverb) makes it sound as though she is right there singing directly to you. The vocal is strong and steady, smooth and flowing. That approach works well for this track and makes the intimate lyrics seem that much more intimate. You'll find this to be a very relaxing song and pleasing to the ear.

What really strikes me is how well captured the tones of the guitar are. Such a sweeeeet sounding guitar! (Feel free to send me the secret. Yeah, give me all the studio specs ;) Though the melody is quite different, the chord progression is reminiscent of the Fleetwood Mac (Nick's penned) song “Landslide" and has that easy going feel and the bare bones approach of just the acoustic guitar and vocal.

It brings to mind a romantic image of being in front of the yellow warm glowing light of the fireplace. I can even hear this around a lonely campfire at the end of the evening. It doesn't strike me as a “hit single", but does everything have to be? No. There's nothing like a great album track! You'll definitely want to “stay" with this one. One place you can do that is on Tina's website where you'll hear more clips from her CD “Mirror". The website is professional, smart, and easy to find your way around. And if you are an artist yourself, maybe you'll pick up a few ideas for your own website.
