Tina Angotti: Mirror

Crisp, clean production, vibrant acoustic guitar, and a smooth voice all combine to make Mirror one of the best local CDs I've heard in a long time. Tina Angotti's musical style blends rock, r&b, and folk, and the songs each bring a unique flavor to the album. The sparkling piano on “My Imagination" contains a modern rock (i.e. Tori Amos) feel, “Walk with Me" strums its way into the pantheon of “great folk," and “I Feel" meshes country with a pop feel.

Angotti's music has been described as “edge without anger." While many of her songs could be seen as personal explorations, the listener never gets the sense of angst, but rather of growth, as Angotti's perceptions blossom along with the songs' instrumentation. Folk fans, particularly fans of Indigo Girls, should definitely check out Angotti's unique brand of song crafting.
